What Moves You?

It's not hard to find things that inspire me in life. Music, style, comedy, art...all of that brings inspiration.

But most of all, I'm inspired by those who...to make it very plain, just don't give a damn about what others have to say. Those free-spirited folk. Live life with no inhibitions and lots of ambition.

"We need to learn to use our middle finger a lot more. Be happy with what you do and just tell the rest of the world to accept it." -Solange Knowles.

Talk about free-spirited!

More inspiration.... :)

~Don't really listen to Bjork's music, but I definitely respect her for her individuality.

--Zoe's style is simply.....Zoe. A very bold combination of hobo, vintage, and "thrift store". While many think she's "too beautiful to dress so bummy", her style represents HER. I admire the fact that she is who she is and steps out of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

Lots of chicks are rocking the shaved heads nowadays. Can't say that I would do that to myself...actually, I'm saying it right now: I WOULDN'T do that to my head. It's far too big and I don't think I'm fierce enough to rock the baldie. I feel like I'd have to have the sexy/serious thing going on all the time, and to be honest, I'm a huge goofball who smiles 18/7 (Not 24/7. I don't smile in my sleep).

...But big ups to the chicks who HAVE shaved their heads. Somewhat a form of expression, freedom.

-Jack Davey: One half of the new wave, fusion duo J*Davey. Check her out. Very different..

--Ok, this pic of Sonya Tayeh is a little wierd, kinda trips me out a little :) (Choreographer on SYTYCD)

I decided not to put some of the obvious ones: Cassie, Amber Rose, La La, etc. I'll leave that up to Bossip & MediaTakeOut ;)

HOWEVER! I will add Solange. Only because she didn't do it to make a fashion statement. Shaving her head was symbolic of freeing herself of bondage (Kudos to you ^_^).

She got so much crap for her haircut, but responded with a simple message: "I shaved my head twice before. Once when I was 16 and again at 18. I didn't care about your opinion then, and I don't care about it now."

ROCK ON, MAMACITA!

...And sometimes it's the small things in life that give you the biggest inspiration...

***One of my absolute fave songs right now is Ryan Leslie's "Gibberish". I think R. Les is a genius when it comes to music and the sounds he uses in each song. I absolutely WUV this song because he created it speaking "Gibberish", letting the listener fill in the lyrics however they please. He inspires them to use their imaginations...And for people like me, who like to have fun with this kinda stuff, the lyrics turned out to be very...umm...outlandish. ;)

And of course, my inspiration to even do this blog came from the one and only B-Rad Davis. I dedicate my ENTIRE blogsite to you :)
